This post is to share my evaluation and perspective of this service … (a warning  – this is a long post … had to be due to the complexity and significance of this product)!

First things first – What is The Internet Time Machine (ITM)?

Simply put, The Internet Time Machine (ITM) is an extremely powerful Search Retrieval and Analysis Engine (built on the cloud computing architecture, which gives it its power and scale), that mines over 36 million keyphrases from across the World Wide Web every 24 hours for -

a) what's being talked about
b) what is being advertised
c) which are being searched for, in what proportions and related to what topics.

The ITM has been conceptualized by Curt Dalton – an Economics major from Massachusetts, and he has rightly used core Economics principles to create an application that analyzes the inefficiencies in the supply and demand curves of what people are looking for (the demand) and how much supply is available on the search engines with respect to products or solutions (measured by number of organic search results and PPC ads for the demand keyphrases).

The ITM project, developed by a team of engineers and mathematicians, started 8 years ago and cost over $200,000 to put together. It has been in private operation for more than 2 years now and is just being opened to the public.

How does the Internet Time Machine (ITM) work?

ITM makes a scorecard that records nouns and pronouns phrases that are being searched and time stamps them. Then the ITM goes out to the top search engines and then uses its own proprietary algorithm to analyze the trend of these key phrases.

Essentially, the ITM analyses the demand and supply curves of the latest buzz works on the internet and provides you the results.

This tool scans over 36 million keyword phrases, proper nouns and noun phrases used in search engines, blogs, newsgroups, mailing lists, etc. – keyphrases that are the most popular 'movers' in the world – just what's currently popular, what people are talking about right now or what the buzz on the internet is right now.

Internet marketers can use the keyphrases generated by this tool for SEO purposes – by knowing the keyword phrases that are most popular, you can optimized your anchor texts, title tags, blog headlines, blog post titles, article theming etc.

Basically keywords/keyphrases whose search volume is rising, but organic search results or PPC is not keeping up with the search requests. The generated content is not a keyword synonym result, but the actual search terms being used – searches that are getting HOT on multiple search engines.

c. ITM Core Trend Analysis:

This is a very powerful tool for Internet marketers planning on creating a new product. This tool uses proprietary, state-of the-art search analysis algorithms to identify hot new product areas and niches that are developing worldwide. It monitors increase search volumes over time in topics and look to see where supply, organic or PPC, is not keeping up with demand. These are long term product development ideas.

Similar to (1) but goes over 60-90-120 days looking for trends – actual trends that people have continually searched for but there isn't enough results either from organic search or PPC.

This database updates every 24-48 hours.

This is the "big idea" button for product development/affiliate product promotion.

A note of caution here – since the tool analyses subjects that people are talking about, there may not be many money making niches. You may have to ignore 90-98 % of the data, but the 10-2% you find could be pure gold for product development.

How does the ITM compute the relativity SCORE for each keyphrase?

The ITM is composed of THREE major components: CRAWLERS, TREND BOTS and STATISTICAL ANALYSIS MODS.

The combined operative functionality of all three components in tandem, allows the ITM to study data from millions of sources across the web, and evaluate what keyphrases are being mentioned where on the web, what their relative importance is to the users searching for them, where (which search engines) they are being searched and in what frequency, what topics are being written about on multiple websites that are contextually relevant to these keyphrases, how much PPC Advertising there is already being conducted for these keyphrases (if any, which is the catch the ITM capitalizes on), and what keyphrases are exhibiting high volumes of search and have little to no PPC ads being supplied for them.

Having completed its daily search and analysis routines, the ITM is capable of projecting a score, individually, for each keyphrase, that depicts how valuable that keyphrase can be to Internet Marketers, SEO Experts and/or both. My perspective on The Internet Time Machine:

Having had full access to the Platinum membership the past few days, I believe it is a very key tool for Internet marketers to find new, hot niches or new product ideas. We depend on this kind of intelligence to scale our revenue generation efforts and take the most advantage of new and emerging opportunities.

The model (demand-supply analysis) upon which the ITM is built is flawless and the output based on multiple sources is irrefutable. Having said this, you should be aware that since the ITM is mining from a wide database, many of the results may not pan out to be money-making niches. You have to use the information the tool provides to find products/solutions that would be viable for earning revenue. This is especially true of the ITM Core Trend Analysis tool where you would need to ignore maybe up to 98% of the keyphrases spewed out by the system. Is this a waste of time? In my opinion – No!

Also since the promoters of this service are relatively new names in the Internet marketing business, I did an extra due diligence to verify their credibility. This post is not a review or promotional piece for the WP Mage software (which I think is a cool system) but for all of those Internet marketers who would like similar functionality at a lower price point.

There has been a lot of buzz recently about Greg Jacob's WP Mage (Wordpress Mage). Greg is offering a completely automated point and click Wordpress-based website building system.

The Wordpress Mage system is, without doubt,  a very well conceived system that delivers high productivity for an Internet marketer. The only caveat is that, like all tools, they can deliver profitable results based on responsible usage, a proper plan and execution strategy.
