Site Profit Bot vs WP Robot & WP ManagerDX – What's the Difference?

43

This post is triggered by a number of emails I received and comments posted on this blog … so I though if responding to it in a post and also inviting visitors to share their comments for all to benefit …

Here is one such email I received …

I discovered you site thru someone at warrior forum, and glad I did.
I've just tested out the mage and ran into a number of problems with hosting companies and the cpmage cpanel.

I'm looking to change and am a bit confused with what the difference is between Site Profit Bot or WP Robot & WP ManagerDX. Do you have any posts comparing these?

Also Edna at WF has this deal WP ManagerDX and Article ManagerDX scripts at no cost when you join the yearly membership at UltimatePLR.com or NicheBloggerDX.com. Is Article ManagerDX the same as WP Robot?

Here is my response … (read till the end … I've got a little tip for you plus a coupon code for WP-Robot) …

In a nut shell …

Site Profit Bot is a complete website builder that automatically aggregates content from online sources including news sites, related forums, related blogs, podcasts, videos, press releases etc. You can also drop in your unique articles which will appear in the blog section of the website. Site Profit Bot uses pre-designed templates and with the input of a single keyword, it builds a complete website in under 60 seconds. The site will include monetization comprising Amazon, ebay and Adsense links with your affiliate IDs.

Site Profit Bot is not built on the Wordpress platform and hence it is low maintenance … no need to upgrade WP, plugins etc …

For more detailed information on Site Profit Bot, you can read my review here.

On the other hand …

WP-Robot is a Wordpress plugin that automates the publishing of content into your WordPress blogs from Yahoo Answers, Articlebase articles, Youtube videos, Yahoo News, 3rd party RSS feeds, and integrates Flickr images, Amazon and eBay products into your posts.

WP-Robot-price

You can get WP-Robot for less if you use the coupon codeWarriorRobot
(it is valid at the time of writing this post)

You can back-date, publish immediately or schedule these multi-source content into your blog. With WP-Robot you will need to set up your WordPress blogs first before you can use the features/functions of WP-Robot.

Check out the new features of WP-Robot 2.0 here. The new MIX feature looks interesting …

WPmanagerDX – If you wish to speed up the setting up and management of WordPress blogs, you might want to look at WPmanagerDX which does this. (For those of you who used WP-Mage, it is in many ways the equivalent of CP-Mage)

WpmanagerDX also has some similar modules/functionality to WP-Robot (see below) so you might want to look it up before you finalize on WP-Robot.

wpmanagerdx

Note: I haven't tested out the auto content features of WPmanagerDX and hence cannot comment on it.

WPmanagerDX costs $97 (plus there is an annual maintenance fee – I don't know how much, though). If you sign up for the product owner's yearly membership of UltimatePLR.com or NicheBloggerDX.com, you will get WP ManagerDX and Article ManagerDX scripts at no cost.

ArticleManagerDX is a hosted application that allows you to upload your own articles to your WP blogs on auto-pilot.

My Personal Recommendation – WP-Robot vs WPmanagerDX :

For auto-content publishing to Wordpress, I would choose WP-Robot over WPmanagerDX, simply beacuse it is more feature rich at this point in time (and also because it does not have an annual maintence fee)!

However, I would also use WPmanagerDX to manage my WP blogs – its a great time saver to set up and maintain blogs … you have a single control panel for your entire WP blog real-estate!

A Useful Tip:

I use a combination of Site Profit Bot and Wordpress (on the same site) with WP-Robot to maximize on the power delivered by both engines (and of course I use WPmanagerDX to manage the blog).

thumbnail-1

Here's what I do (you need to be comfortable with modifying php code) -

I first install a site using Site Profit Bot (60 secs)! Then I set up a 'blog' folder on the domain and install WordPress in it with WP-Robot (plus my other standard plugins). I then modify the following php file to point its Blog page to the Wordpress blog I set up.

menu.php file (you will find this file in the main folder of your website) -

1. Change - if ($isarticle=="1") to if ($isarticle=="0")
2. Change the href= from "< ?php echo $baseurlpath;?>article" to "http://your-url-here.com/blog/"

That's all there is to it … now go set up your Wordpress installation in the 'blog ' folder

Bingo … I now have a website that is generating auto content from 12-14 sources.

The benefit? I have the power of Site Profit Bot pulling content based on tag keywords from the social sites plus I have a more controlled blog which pulls content from more sources based on my carefully selected keywords and also my own unique articles.

And yes, I have been able to have my WP blog have the same look and feel as the SPB template. Click Here to get the same WP theme that is used by the SPB program.

Here is another sample site with the SPB generated website nested within a Wordpress Blog -

Andy,

Thanks to your fantastic idea! Sure this makes us have the best of two worlds!

But this will make you lose the ability of uploading your own articles.

Can you be more specific about modifying the index page?

I would like to know how Site Profit Bot compares to Multi Profit Websites.

Jack @ 10:44 pm #

Hi Andy,

I know but MPW will be offered again and I wonder if it is worth waiting for. I've just heard about Site Profit Bot and was curious as to how it compares to MPW.

Hi Andy,

Two things.

Does Site Profit work on a Mac?

Is it a problem with only being able to use one keyword?
How does Site Profit choose what keyword to use based on the one you choose, and what if you want to use a keyword that is less popular?

Thanks,
Bob

Andy , Great Post – I have no problem editing php code as long as I'm given the correct script to paste into my ftp editing file.

Care to give out the redirecting codes you use and where you put them in reference to SPB?

Hello All,
I must say it is really a great strategy and in fact it is working wonderfully on my website, the only problem is if you look at the footer the "Latest Post" is still there and it is empty.I tried to put some Article to the article directory and what happens was the blog menu that i set up disappears. Is there a way around this?

David @ 12:18 am #

Andy,

Thanks for your very quick response to my first post. I look forward to some great info. from your newsletters.

A few more questions:

1. When setting up the WP blog, do you do it using your domain name, then have SPB link to it?

2. I can't open the menu.php to change the attributes. What should I use to open it?

3. I see in all of your sites that the picture links to the Amazon, eBay, Videos and Podcasts are missing. Did you do that on purpose, or is this the result of the WP blog or WP Robot software?

I was ready to cancel my SiteProfitBot, but after your comments and suggestions, I can't wait to see the results in my SPB sites!

Many thanks,

David

Hi Andy,
I opened up the menu file for one os my Site Profit Bot sites and this is the code I had <a href="article">Blog where you said to look for "article".

My question is – does the menu file having the blog listing after "article" mean anything? Why or why not?

Thanks for your help – I've enjoyed learning from you!

Chris @ 7:48 am #

Hi Andy,
Thanks for that! Once I typed everything in correctly (I made some small errors) it worded like a treat! Now I can find a niche, build a blog around that niche and create pages that link back to the blog – dozens or even hundreds of pages. I have actually set up a blog on celebrity news – more as an experiment than anything else to see if I could automate posts, create pages and sub-pages. Does this sound like something that will work?
Chris
PS Thanks again for your help and Merry Christmas!

JT @ 5:08 pm #

Hi Andy,

I've bought SPB on your recommendation and my first site is up and looking good. However, there is one issue I'm having and that is with the articles.

I decided not to nest SPB within Wordpress (but perhaps I should) and simply use the articles / blog function 'as is' for my own content.

Thing is, I click on the blog link and I'm taken to a page with all my articles listed along with short excerpts, which is great. However, when I click on any of the 'read more' links I'm taken to the page where the full article should show, but all I'm getting is the excerpt.

I know you are not SPB support but you've been so helpful and knowledgeable here that I thought I'd just ask if you have any idea what the 'fix' may be?

I've submitted a support ticket a couple of days ago with SPB but no-one has gotten back to me yet, perhaps because of the holidays.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks. Great blog by the way.

JT @ 12:58 am #

Hey Andy,

Thanks for that suggestion. Re-uploading the articles again totally fixed the issue. Thanks for taking the time to help me. You rock!

Greetings Andy,

You state:

"I only use my own hosted blogs … I either set up my blog in the root folder and then create an 'about' folder or where I drop the SPB site in (see Pregnancy site) or I install the SPB site in the root folder and create a 'blog' folder wherein I install the WP site (see Christmas site)."

Question(s) –
1) Why do you use two different root/folder approaches?
2) What are the pros/cons of each approach?

P.S. You do a great job at presenting the information,I really appreciate that.

Herman @ 1:36 am #

Greetings Andy,

Thank you for responding to my comment.

You state

"I do prefer, however, to install my blog in the root folder and the SPB site in a sub-folder."

Question(s) -
1) Why is this approach your preference?
2) Is one approach, given that both have the same amount of
content, the better way.
3) How do you know that one approach will have more content then the
other?

David @ 9:59 am #

Andy,

Do you know if it would be possible to change folders after the site is live?

For instance, if I started with SPB as the root folder and my WP blog in a subfolder but found that I had more content over time from the WP blog, could I then put the WP blog in the root folder and the SPB in the subfolder?

All the best in this New Year 2010!

Greetings Andy!

Thanks for your informative response. I had purchased the SiteProfitBot software during the initial offering period, and wasn't quite sure how to best use it. Now based on your posts and comments, I will be purchasing WP Robot (from your link), and look forward to using the strategies you mentioned.

Thanks again for the great posts.

Hi Andy,
I've been off for a while but I'm back into it – thanks for your best wishes for 2010! Please accept my best wishes for the coming

Can I ask you a serious question – and please feel free to assume I'm an internet marketing moron because that's fine by me – how on earth did you manage to make money with your guitar site so quickly? Am I out of line by asking you? Which programs would you recommend that spell it out for someone as inept as me?

Thanks for your help!

Eric @ 4:25 pm #

Hi, this is all very intriguing, but I'm a little confused -

If you put your WP blog in the root folder and your SPB site in a subfolder, in terms of user navigation your SPB site is still the main site and the blog is still a subpage called "Blog" right?

If your SPB site is in a subfolder called "about", when you give you the URL to the site, does that URL have an "/about" in it?

And from the blog, do you link back to the main site?

On your pregnancy site, forexample, which URL/folders are WP, and which are SPB – they blend so well it's hard to tell the difference.

Another question – I understand that your own keyword targeted articles will drive traffic to your site, but will the content generated by SPB be at all iinfluenced by the conent of your articles?

Thanks,
Eric

Herman @ 8:50 pm #

Greetings Andy,

You state :

"This is the key here …. it should seamless … Wordpress is my root directory and SPB in sub-folder … on hindsight I should not have labeled the SPB folder as 'About' … but it does not really matter …. "

Why should you have not labeled the SPB folder as "About," and what would be an appropriate name for the SPB folder?

What if your site is dedicated to 4 specific niche categories under one umbrella domain? For example the website is "Cheap Meals" and it is broken down into "supper", "lunch", "Breakfast" and "Snacks."

What would be the main keyword for SPB?

I am familiar with WordPress and WP Robot so I know you can add multiple keywords but the one keyword limitation in SPB has thrown me for a loop.

Great site by the way!

Andy @ 12:38 pm #

Hi all,

Just wanted to tell all those you are following this thread that whenever you make a change to the php files within your SPB site (even when you updated the fix JP released to fix the tags issue for existing sites), you need to flush out the cache folder and all the sub folders within the cache folder. Simply delete all the .html files in the cache main and sub folders.

On a separate note, I have been very impressed with the Internet Time Machine in its ability to help identify niche opportunities. If you haven't seen it yet, check out my post on the Internet Time Machine here.

This is to give you a quick heads up that Thomas at WP-Robot has just launched WP Shopping Pages – a new and powerful affiliate plugin for Wordpress weblogs. The plugin creates content-rich Shopping Pages filled with Amazon products and eBay auctions.

WP Shopping Pages adds keyword optimized content to your weblog on the click of a button, which can help you get a better ranking in search engines and thus will attract more visitors to your websites.

It is going at an introductory price of $69 ($20 discount).

Check it out here!
